BRYCE ABBOTT

 

 This is Bryce Abbott’s 2^nd year of coaching. Bryce was also born and raised in the Alberni Valley and started playing within AVMHA at a young age. He first started playing in the competitive program as a 1^st year Pee-Wee and finished playing for AVMHA in Midget.

 

Most recently, Abbott helped out Rob Gaudreault’s Atom Rep team, 2 seasons ago. This sparked an interest in coaching for Abbott. He knew Rick Schvievink who introduced him to Demerais. Last year, Demerais encouraged Abbott to come on board and coach with him and Dave McConnell. Abbott’s 1^st year coaching took the Midgets to winning the Vancouver Island Championship and onto the Provincials in Victoria; an accomplishment that is rare for a 1^st year coach.

 Abbott has great dedication to the Midget Rep team this year, as he commutes from VIU in Nanaimo to coach this season.
