As many of you may know we lost a former AVMHA player, Connor Gagnon to a tragic accident in the fall.
Connor started playing hockey for AVMHA at age 4. As his family explained he had a passion for hockey and played competitive REP up until he graduated in 2013. In his graduation year Connor and his teammates also won the BC Provincials.
Recently Connor’s family approached AVMHA to ask about donating to minor hockey and over the last few months AVMHA has received monetary gifts in memory of Connor. This is a meaningful tribute and an important contribution in supporting minor hockey in the Alberni Valley.
In honor of Connor the AVMHA executive has decided that we will be changing the name of our Midget Rep tournament that normally occurs around the Remembrance Day long weekend to now be called
” The Connor Gagnon Memorial Tournament”
Thank you to the Gagnon family and friends for your kind contributions, we wish you well.
